Description
The PACE group aims to establish a fully functional demonstration farm in Thika that will serve as a model for urban farming techniques.
By 30 April 2026, we plan to convert an underutilized space into a multi-vertical garden where each member of the group will be involved in creating individual garden plots.
This initiative not only seeks to enhance awareness and education about sustainable agriculture but also provides practical training programs focused on urban farming and agroecology for at least 100 youths from the Thika community.
In addition to the educational aspect, the demo farm will also serve as a platform for selling fresh produce, primarily vegetables, to the local community, promoting healthy eating and supporting local economies.
A marketing campaign will be launched by mid-April 2026 to generate interest and awareness of the farm's offerings, with visibility enhanced through a prominent banner.
This collaborative effort, supported by the local government and community members, aims to empower young individuals, foster a culture of sustainability, and improve food security within the region.
